Aerial rescue training.

Our industry is filled with risk and hazards, if not managed properly can have serious consequences.

We consider the safety of our employees, our customers and other stakeholders is of vital importance and take every precaution to ensure this happens

All of our staff hold the relevant qualifications to undertake the tasks they are required to complete, however should an unfortunate incident occur with one of our climbers, such as laceration of a chainsaw or impact form a limb and they are unable to self tend a decent, then our aerial rescue on site needs to be equipped and competent enough to help them.

Today we undertook health and safety training with our staff:

We employed an external trainer/assessor to come in and undertake refresher training with our arborists to run through the rescue procedure, and talk about scenarios that our employers may experience.

Aerial Rescue Training

Under the instruction of a qualified external assessor the teams ran through a rescue situation using a number of different methods.

Some of the scenarios included pole rescue, pole rescue and two rope working.

“The training was very informative and helpful, as I haven’t received aerial rescue refresher for a long time while working for a previous company”

Said: Jason Rollinson - Team Leader at Beechwood Trees and Landscapes Ltd

Unfortunately after the lovely week of sunshine we’ve had, it started to rain - but this did not dampen their spirits!!

Fortunately we have never had to perform a rescue on site, but we need to ensure we are competent and confident we could act quickly and effectively, should the worst happen.

Continued Development.

In addition we delivered external certification in the following modules:

  • Health and Safety Induction

  • Manual handling

  • Asbestos awareness

  • Personal Protective Equipment

  • CoSHH awareness

By refreshing our team knowledge it helps reduce the chances of an accident, but it also educates everyone how to respond in the event of something unfortunate happening to them.

This not only makes our operations safer and generally more efficient, it also gives our clients complete peace of mind when engaging with us to complete tree work on their behalf.
