As we reflect on more than two decades of growth, expertise, and community support, we thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and explore what was happening in the UK back in 1998, the year Beechwood was born.
1998 was a year packed with iconic moments in British culture, sports, and beyond. Here are just a few:
Spice Up Your Life: The Spice Girls were at the height of their fame, and none of us can forget Geri Halliwell wearing that unforgettable Union Jack dress at the BRIT Awards. It became a defining moment in British pop culture and girl power history.
Beckham's Red Card: Football fans across the UK will remember the moment David Beckham was controversially sent off during the World Cup match against Argentina in France. Despite England’s hopes being dashed, Beckham’s story would evolve into one of redemption and global stardom.
Google Was Born: While we were just getting started with trees and landscapes, Google was being founded, changing the way we navigate the internet and find information forever. Who knew back then how much impact this little start-up would have?
Titanic Ruled the Box Office: James Cameron’s Titanic became the highest-grossing movie of all time (until Avatar came along), and we were all belting out Celine Dion’s "My Heart Will Go On." It’s a movie that still holds a special place in cinematic history today.

While all of this was happening, Beechwood Trees & Landscapes Ltd was just getting started.
In 1998, we embarked on a journey to provide expert tree care and landscaping services with a focus on quality, professionalism, and community engagement.
Looking back, it’s clear that just like the Spice Girls or Beckham’s football career, we’ve come a long way! From taking on small residential jobs to now working on major commercial and public sector projects, our commitment to excellence has never wavered.
Our services have expanded to cover everything from arboricultural consultancy to complex tree surgery, and we continue to thrive thanks to the support of our clients and the dedication of our skilled team.
As we celebrate this special anniversary, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what the future holds.
