Christmas Tree Recycling

Many people still follow the tradition that Christmas trees and decorations should be taken down by the twelfth night of Christmas (5th January) to avoid bad luck for the New Year.

If you have a real Christmas tree, it is important to dispose of it responsibly…..

Coventry Charity Christmas Tree Recycling have a “treecycling” scheme, or a drop off point to dispose of your tree where it will be shredded into chippings.

However, if you have a tree with its roots still attached, you could also replant your tree in your garden - this is a great way of reducing your carbon footprint.

If you keep your tree in the pot, you will need to progressively repot it into larger pots as the roots require it. The growth of your tree will be limited to how much the roots can grow.

If you replant it into the ground make sure your tree has enough space as Christmas trees can grow very large, reaching a height of 20m in 20 years, and can grow up to 40m high.

If you already have large Christmas trees (Spruce or Fir) or any other trees you would like advice on or maintaining, please feel free to contact Beechwood Trees and Landscapes ltd using the button below.
